Welcome
The Quality of Life Report is an annual publication produced by Hertfordshire Environmental Forum (HEF).
The aim of the report is to present facts about the Quality of Life in Hertfordshire and encompasses everything we have come to appreciate or desire in modern society. Whether it's a clean, safe, environment, high levels of local employment; or a prosperous economy, quality of life is important to us all.
The annual report provides news and information about what it is like to live and work in Hertfordshire in a particular year. With access to reports dating back to 1991 accessible online, readers can decide for themselves whether there is a good quality of life in Hertfordshire, whether it has declined or if it is improving. It also introduces some of the factors, such as legislation, that are responsible for influencing changes.
Using measurements identified by specialists (indicators), the report helps to ascertain whether the county is progressing in a sustainable manner; socially, economically and environmentally. Recognized for best practice by the Audit Commission, the report is also used to assist with plans and assessments by both residents and officials and is of interest to anyone involved in the county.
