GB canoe team visit Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre to view progress
The GB Canoe Slalom team visited the site of the Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre for the first time recently. David Florence, Beijing silver medallist and Lizzie Neave, recent World Championship medallist were both impressed with the construction so far. David, who's been involved with the sport for over 12 years said “Everyone is really excited about the developments here and with our Performance Manager Andy Maddock being involved in the design and development of the White Water Canoe Centre site we know we are in good hands for a fantastic home venue for the London 2012 Olympics.”
School marks 1,000 days until paralympics
Amwell View School, Stanstead Abbotts, (a Specialist Sports College for children with severe learning difficulties), put on a display to celebrate 1,000 days to go to the start of the London 2012 Paralympics. They performed at the annual conference for Hertfordshire's School Sports Coordinators (SSCos) held at Wodson Park Sports Centre, Ware.
Bishop's Stortford High School welcomes two Olympians
Double Olympic triple jump finalist Larry Achike and 2004 Olympic silver medallist rower Alison Mowbray visited the Bishop's Stortford High School. John Fuller, Herts 2012 manager, was also on hand to present awards to pupils.
