Case study

The 3Style Festival of Achievement, held in July 2007, was part of the Hertfordshire Children's Trust Partnership consultation for the Children and Young People’s plan. The lead agency was Connexions Hertfordshire. The event celebrated young people's artistic achievements and combined this with opportunities to creatively engage and consult with a large number of young people.

By using music, arts and media performed by young people for young people, this event reached a diverse audience and engaged those who may not access other engagement routes. The event is a great example of empowering young people to organise, run, evaluate and be an active part in a large-scale community event. See www.3style.org.uk for more information.

A pdf of the full report of the event can be found here.

The event was filmed and a documentary produced so that you can see and understand the ways in which young people were engaged, consulted and empowered.
