Get walking in St Albans

As summer approaches, why not get out and about in St Albans with a new health walk that has been launched at Verulamium Park?
The walks start from Westminster Lodge (outside the leisure centre, Holywell Hill) every Wednesday at 7pm and are led by fully-trained volunteers. There’s no need to book, you can just turn up and join in for free - all are welcome, bring your children, friends and family!
"The county-wide health walk scheme has proved very popular and I'm glad that we're able to meet increasing demand by introducing this new walk in St Albans," said County Councillor Stuart Pile, Executive Member for Highways, Transport and Rural Affairs. "As well as the health benefits, the walks are a safe way to get to know the local area and meet new people."
St Albans District Councillor Sheila Barton, portfolio holder for Sport and Health Living, added: "Getting some exercise doesn't have to be all 'pain and strain'. More and more residents are discovering that the healthy walks programme gives them both exercise and a pleasant social event. This new summer evening walk in Verulamium Park is sure to be popular."
